DECORAH, Iowa — The Saint Mary's University swimming and diving teams close out the 2010 portion of their schedule this weekend, taking part in a 5:30 p.m. dual meet at Luther, before the divers head off to St. Paul, Minn., and the St. Catherine Diving Invitational on Saturday.

The Cardinals and Norse met up a year ago at the
SMU Triangular, with Luther placing second, while the Cardinals were third.
Liz Flynn (Mahtomedi, Minn.) led the way for the Cardinals, winning both the one-meter and three-meter diving competitions.
Mark Ross (Dubuque, Iowa) led the way for the SMU men, placing fourth in both the 100 backstroke and 500 freestyle.

The Cardinal women returned from a lengthy layoff to beat Hamline 121-64 in a dual last Friday in St. Paul, Minn., before falling to Concordia 90-41 on Saturday in Moorhead, Minn. … The Cardinal men did not compete last weekend, and will have not competed in 20 days when they take to the pool Friday vs. Luther. …
Liz Flynn (Mahtomedi, Minn.) and
Lisa Lucas (Gunnison, Colo.) each picked up a pair of first-place finishes in SMU's dual-meet win over Hamline last Friday. Flynn swept the diving competition, while Lucas won both the 200 and 500 freestyle. …
Nikki Farmer (Medford, Wis.) and
Anna Smaron (Maple Plain, Minn.) also picked up first-place finishes for the Cardinals, with Farmer winning the 100 freestyle and Smaron taking first in the 100 breaststroke. … Smaron collected SMU's lone individual first-place finish vs. the Cobbers last Saturday, winning the 200 IM, while also placing second in the 200 breaststroke. … SMU's 200 freestyle relay team and 400 medley relay team picked up their first first-place finishes this season vs. the Cobbers.
