January 29, 2010: One mistake in the third period, proved to be the Cardinals' downfall, as St. Thomas scored a powerplay goal five minutes into the third period to break a 1-1 tie and lift the Tommies to a 2-1 conference win over SMU at the St. Thomas Ice Arena in Mendota Heights, Minn.

January 30, 2010: The Tommies scored three goals in the third period, erasing a 3-1 Cardinal lead and lifting UST to a 4-3 victory at the SMU Ice Arena.

The Cardinals' 2-1 win over Bethel Saturday snapped their season-high four-game losing streak. … SMU is still searching for its first conference win on a Friday — the Cardinals fell to 0-1-3 in conference play on Friday nights. … SMU's 3-0 loss at Bethel Friday also marked the first time this season the Cardinals have failed to score at least one goal. … Nicole Olson (New Brighton, Minn.) and Sheree Haslemore (Gore, New Zealand) scored SMU's two goals vs. Bethel in Saturday's 2-1 win. … Olson has now scored in three of the team's last four games, giving the Cardinal junior four goals on the season and a team-leading 13 points. … Olson also leads the team in assists (9), while Haley Coolsaet (Grosse Island, Mich.) and Brittany Therrien (Brooklyn Park, Minn.) share the team lead with six goals each. … Coolsaet recorded her first collegiate hat trick on Nov. 13 — scoring all three goals in the third period of SMU's 5-2 win over Concordia. … Five of Coolsaet's six goals have come in two games.
