ST. PAUL, Minn. — The Saint Mary's University women's hockey team gets another shot at St. Catherine on Saturday, as the Cardinals head to Drake Arena for the second game of their two-game MIAC series with the Wildcats. Puck drops at 4 p.m.

St. Catherine scored three unanswered goals, erasing a 1-0 SMU first-period lead, as the Wildcats handed the Cardinals their first conference loss of the season, 3-2, Friday evening at the SMU Ice Arena.

SMU vs. St. Catherine — A Year Ago:
November 18, 2011: The Cardinals scored as many goals in one night as they did in their two games the previous weekend combined — but could only come away with a single point, as SMU battled St. Catherine to a 2-2 overtime tie at Ridder Arena in Minneapolis, Minn.

November 19, 2011: St. Catherine converted on two of its five power play opportunities — with both goals coming in the second period — as SCU handed SMU a 3-1 MIAC setback at the SMU Ice Arena.

The Cardinals step out of conference play on Tuesday, squaring off against St. Scholastica in a 7 p.m. neutral-site showdown in Hastings, Minn. … St. Catherine, meanwhile, is off until Nov. 30, when the Wildcats host Saint Benedict in a 7:05 p.m. MIAC game at Drake Arena. The two teams will then meet at the MAC in St. Cloud, Minn., on Saturday at 4 p.m. in the second game of their MIAC series.

Friday's 3-2 win over Saint Mary's on Friday extended the Wildcats' winning streak to three straight. … St. Catherine has not allowed more than two goals in any of its first four games this season. … Bailey Rasmussen scored the Wildcats' first goal against Saint Mary's Friday, giving her a goal in each of SCU's last three games. … Nicki Mosbeck and Becky Clifton accounted for St. Catherine's other two goals vs. SMU Friday. … Mosbeck's goal was her second in as many games. … Alex Hall — who stopped all 18 shots she faced against Augsburg last Saturday en route to her first collegiate shutout — stopped 34 SMU shots Friday in improving to 3-0-0 on the year. … Rasmussen leads the team in goals (3) and points (4), while Maureen Ryan — who assisted on two of SCU's three goals Friday — is the team's assist leader with three. … Hall and Samantha Geissler have shared the goaltending duties for the Cardinals, with Hall owning a 1.14 goals-against-average and a .959 save percentage, while Geissler has a 2.19 GAA and a .914 save percentage. … Five of St. Catherine's last eight goals have come on the power play. … Saturday's game against Saint Mary's is just the second home game of the season for the Wildcats, who played three of their first four games on the road.
