DUBUQUE, Iowa — The Saint Mary's University track and field teams are back in action Saturday, as the Cardinals travel to the University of Dubuque for the Spartan Invitational

Cardinals' Last Action:
February 10, 2012: John Soucheray (Woodbury, Minn.) picked up the Cardinals' lone first-place finish in leading the way for SMU at the Cardinal Open on Feb. 10 at the Gostomski Fieldhouse.

SMU at Spartan Invitational:
Saturday's appearance will be the first-ever for the Cardinals at the Universtiy of Dubuque's Spartan Invitational.

Up Next:
The Cardinals are back in action next Friday, traveling to Northfield, Minn., to take part in the St. Olaf Ole Qualifier.

John Soucheray (Woodbury, Minn.) recorded the Cardinals' lone first-place finish, as the sophomore won the 1,000 with a time of 2:41.12. … Ryan Weis (Deefield, Ill.) made it a 1-2 SMU finish in the 1,000 with a second-place time of 2:54.68. … Gabe Thiel (Elgin, Minn.) sparked a 2-3-3 showing by the Cardinals in the 600, stopping the clock in a second-place time of 1:29.33. Thomas Sigwalt (Geneseo, Ill.) added a third in the 600 (1:29.66), with Colin Sheehan (Austin, Minn.) placing third (1:30.83). … Bethany Schmidt (Sparta, Wis.) crossed the finish line in 1:44.50 to place second in the 600, while Regina Quandt (Minneapolis, Minn.) was close behind, placing third in 1:46.97. … Amy Spitzmueller (New Brighton, Minn.) chipped in a third in the 1,000 (3:20.79) and Coco Booker (St. Paul, Minn.) was fourth in the shot put (12.50 meters).
