Kolquist was below par in each of his three rounds, and finished a remarkable 9-under-par for the tournament, 16 shots better than any other player in the men's field. Cardinal Women At 2012 MIAC Championships:
Oct. 6-7-8, 2012: Jenna Mrozinski (North St. Paul, Minn.) — who has been the Cardinals' leader all season — was back leading SMU at the conference championships, recording a season-best 89 in the tourney's final round to help the Cardinals to an 11th-place finish. Mrozinski opened the three-day event with a 94 and followed that up with a then season-low 92, only to whittle three strokes off that second-round total to finish at 275. The 89 marked the second year in a row that Mrozinski turned in her best round of the season during the final day of the MIAC championships — the Cardinal senior carded a career-best 85 in the third round a year ago.
2012 Women's MIAC Championships Recap:
St. Olaf successfully completed its title defense, and their star player added a big individual honor when senior Molly Erickson won a thrilling race for individual medalist honors by a single shot. A day after surging into the lead, St. Olaf carded a 322 as a team to complete its 11-shot victory over Carleton and its second-straight MIAC championships. Gustavus, which led after the first day, finished third. Erickson made up ground after a slow start. She carded an opening-round 80, but used a 2-over-par to get in position to win, and closed out the win with an 81 in the final round and a three-day total of 235. Carleton Kelsey Moede finished just a shot back in second at 236 (75-82-79) |
