NORTHFIELD, Minn. — The Saint Mary's University of Minnesota women's hockey team is on the road on Friday, as the Cardinals kick off their two-game conference series against St. Olaf with a 7:30 p.m. contest at the Northfield Ice Arena.

With their two games against sixth-ranked Gustavus last weekend, the Cardinals have now played seven games against nationally ranked teams this season—Adrian was ranked No. 7 when the Cardinals faced them on Jan. 9; UW-Superior was ranked No. 9 in the USCHO.com Top 10 when the teams met on Nov. 7-8; and St. Thomas headed into the teams' conference openers on Nov. 14-15 ranked No. 8. … The Cardinals' last four games have all been decided by one goal—2-1 and 1-0 wins over Bethel and 3-2 and 1-0 losses to Gustavus. … Mary DeBartolo (Chicago, Ill.) and Breanna Peterson (Macomb, Mich.) accounted for the Cardinals' two goals against Gustavus last Friday. … With their goals vs. Gustavus, DeBartolo and Peterson remained tied for the team lead with nine points each. … Jamie Henderson (Madison, Wis.) is the team-leader in goals with five, while Peterson and McKenna Parent (Anoka, Minn.) share the team lead with seven assists. … The Cardinals boast three players who have recorded multiple-goal games this season—Henderson, Macki Fadness (Eau Claire, Wis.) and Molly Abraham (Sterling Heights, Mich.). With their back-to-back losses to Bethel, the Oles saw their winless streak climb to five (0-4-1).  … St. Olaf's 1-1 tie against nationally ranked Gustavus on Dec. 6 snapped the Oles' season-opening eight-game losing streak, while their 2-1 win over UW-Eau Claire on Jan. 9 ended their season-opening 11-game winless streak (0-10-1). … St. Olaf's 7-0 and 7-4 losses to Bethel marked the fifth and sixth times this season the Oles have surrendered seven goals or more in a game.
