Recap The Cardinals at Jean Freeman Invitational—Their Last Appearance:• December 5-6, 2014 * Minneapolis, Minn.: Saint Mary's oach Eric Lindquist knew how important the two-day University of Minnesota Jean Freeman Invitational was for his Cardinals. Not only was it one final competition before the Christmas holidays, but it was also a chance for the Cardinals to compete in an event with a similar structure to the season-ending Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Championships—not to mention compete in an event at the same venue as the conference championships. Reese Galewski (Winona, Minn.) chipped in an eighth in the 100 butterfly (1:05.46), and
Grace VanBeest (Flossmoor, Ill.) recorded 11th-place efforts in both the 100 (1:15.87) and 200 (2:44.29) breaststrokes. …
Joe Tonda (St. Paul, Minn.) and
Lucas Rukavina (Winona, Minn.) were once again busy in the pool at the Grace Goblirsh Invite—Tonda placed ninth in the 100 breaststroke (1:06.69), 10th in the 200 backstroke (1:00.80), and 12th in the 400 IM (4:52.99), while Rukavina was ninth in both the 200 freestyle (1:53.88) and 500 freestyle (5:20.27), and added a 12th in the 200 butterfly (2:22.55). …
