The Cardinals broke three records at last weekend's UW-Stevens Point Big Dog Invitational. … Ross Kinderman (Onalaska, Wis.) rewrote the Cardinal record books with his seventh-place time of 8.69 in the 60 hurdles last weekend, while Maria Missurelli (Franklin, Wis.) posted a school-record height of 3.25 meters in finishing tied for fourth the pole vault, and Jovan Newsum (Glendale Heights, Ill.) etched his name in the Cardinal record books with his time of 8:48.97 in the 3,000. … Newsum's record-setting effort in the 3,000 was nearly four seconds faster than the previous mark—set 15 years ago. … Along with his record-setting showing in the 60 hurdles, Kinderman also added an eighth-place effort in the long jump (6.29 meters) and a 12th in the 200 (23.30) at the Big Dog Invitational. … Bryan Ortman (Chicago, Ill.) chipped in a third-place effort in the triple jump (12.36 meters), while Austin O'Hare (Rushford, Minn.) was fourth in the 3,000 (9:11.88), Brandon Krogman (Owatonna, Minn.) added a ninth in the 800 (2:01.23), and Aaron Haley (Plainview, Minn.) and Tyler Kircher (Cashton, Wis.) posted 10th-place efforts in the 5,000 (16:04.71) and weight throw (15.20 meters), respectively. … Paige Schernecker (Manawa, Wis.) placed 10th in the 3,000 (11:59.65) and Maya Booker (St. Paul, Minn.) was 12th in the weight throw (14.42 meters) to pace the Cardinal women last weekend. … Mary Hayes (Chicago, Ill.) and Bridget Hayes (Chicago, Ill.) chipped in mile times of 6:05.77 and 6:05.80, respectively.
