ST. PETER, Minn. — After competing in less-than-ideal conditions in their first two outdoor meets of the season, the Saint Mary's University of Minnesota track and field teams were greeted with sunny skies and warm temperatures Saturday afternoon.

And the Cardinals made the most of the stellar weather conditions.

Bryan Ortman finished just behind Hagen-Erickson in the long jump with a 6.28m effort, while James Davis clocked a pair of second-place times, finishing in 22.58 in the 200 and 11.20 in the 100. Desmond Steward recorded a time of 11.58 to finish seventh in the 100 for the Saint Mary's men, while Dup chipped in a sixth in the 100 with a time of 12.81 for the Cardinal women.

Brandon Krogman chipped in a top-5 finish for the Cardinal men, placing fourth in the 400 with a time of 52.41. Kody Michaels placed fifth in the 400 hurdles (59.81) and Luis Avila added a seventh-place effort of 5.91m in the long jump, while Hagen Erickson chipped in a seventh in the triple jump (12.30m), and Andrew Allemann and Tyler Fiebig also fared well in the 400, placing 12th and 13th in times of 54.52 and 54.66, respectively. Jovan Newsum clocked a time of 1:59.97 to finish seventh in the 800, while Ross Kinderman chipped in a 12th in the javelin (41.95m), and Phil Emmerich was eighth in the 400 hurdles (1:00.21), 15th in the high jump (1.57m) and 18th in the shot put (10.22m).

Molly Abraham clocked a time of 1:09.51 in the 400 to place 14th and Alicia Berkenes added a time of 2:32.59 to finish 19th in the 800, while Madeline Eichers and Kierra Walske finished 19th and 20th in the discus with throws of 30.31m and 30.21m, respectively. Allie Thiel clocked a time of 2:34.48 to place 21st in the 800,
