ST. PETER, Minn. — The Saint Mary's University of Minnesota women's hockey team kicks off its two-game Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference series against Gustavus on Friday, as the Cardinals travel to Don Roberts Ice Arena for a 7 p.m. matchup against the Gusties.

• Friday's game against Gustavus is the second of back-to-back road games for the Cardinals, who have collected all five of their wins this season away from the Saint Mary's Ice Arena. … The Cardinals' 2-1 win over nationally ranked and league-leading Augsburg last Saturday snapped their four-game losing streak and seven-game winless streak (0-6-1). … With last Saturday's 2-1 win over Augsburg, four of the Cardinals' five wins have been by two goals or less—the lone exception, a 6-3 win over St. Olaf on Nov. 17. … The Cardinals' six goals in their 6-3 win over St. Olaf on Nov. 17 were not only a season high, but also the highest single-game offensive output since scoring six against both Marian and Hamline during the 2009-2010 season. … Lindsay Paschke (New Prague, Minn.) scored the Cardinals' lone goal against Augsburg in last Friday's 5-1 loss, while Jamie Henderson (Madison, Wis.) and Kassie Lien (Grantsburg, Wis.) scored Saint Mary's two goals in last Saturday's 2-1 victory. … With her goal against Augsburg last Saturday, Henderson has now scored five goals in Saint Mary's last four games. It was the sixth time in her last seven starts that Corcoran has stopped 30 or more shots. … Corcoran made a season-high 41 saves against St. Thomas on Jan. 13. … Marah Shields (Mitford, Mich.) also had a 41-save performance in the team's rematch with the Tommies on Jan. 14. … Corcoran's 41-save effort against the Tommies was one shy of her career high. … Corcoran owns a team-leading 3.00 goals-against-average and a .907 save percentage, while Shields has a 4.19 GAA and an .880 save percentage. … Twelve of the Cardinals' 40 goals have come on special teams—n power-play and four shorthanded. … Saint Mary's has scored 15 goals in the second period and 18 in the third, while the Cardinals' opponents have netted 24 goals in the second and 32 in the third. … With their two overtime games against St. Thomas on Jan. 13-14, the Cardinals have now played six games decided by one goal or less. • Friday's game against Saint Mary's is the fourth straight home game for the Gusties, who are 7-3-2 on their home ice this season. … With their win and tie against Concordia last weekend, Gustavus pushed its unbeaten streak to seven (5-0-2). GAC has not lost since dropping back-to-back games to nationally ranked UW-River Falls (3-0 and 4-1). … Gustavus has outscored its opponents 24-8 during its current seven-game unbeaten streak. … Emily Gustafson scored twice and Nicole Abraham, Marina Chapman, and Erica Power netted the other three in last Friday's 5-0 win over Concordia.
