"The ladies started superbly and kept up the intensity throughout," said Saint Mary's coach
Jeff Halberg. "It was a very good win today."
Saint Mary's kicked off the win with three straight doubles matches, getting an 8-2 win at No. 1 from
Laura Sonday (West St. Paul, Minn.) and
Colleen Lois (Green Bay, Wis.), while
Cassandra Barr (Eau Claire, Wis.) and
Julia Boeve (St. James, Minn.) added an 8-5 victory at No. 2, and

Marissa Kinzer (Aitkin, Minn.) delivered an 8-1 win at No. 3.
And has dominant as they were in doubles, the Cardinals were even better in singles, dropping just 13 games in sweep all six matches in straight sets. Boeve and Sheyenne (Cannon Falls, Minn.) led the way, each posting 6-0, 6-0 victories.
The Cardinals (2-4 MIAC, 7-7 overall) step out of conference play next Sunday, heading to Western Racquet Club in Green Bay, Wis., for nonconference matches against Wisconsin Lutheran (noon) and St. Norbert (3 p.m.).
