WAVERLY, Iowa  — The Saint Mary's University men's and women's cross country teams are back in action on Saturday, traveling to Wartburg College to take part in the season-ending NCAA Division III Central Regional. The men's race is slated for 11 a.m., with the women's to follow at noon

• Running in her final MIAC Championships, Danielle Franke (Mounds View, Minn.) clocked a career-best six-kilometer time of 24:18.5 to place 54th overall. Franke's 24:18.5 6K effort bettered her previous career-best time of 24:21.6, st at the UW-Eau Claire Invitational on Oct. 4. … Franke has now been the Cardinal women's top finisher in each of their five meets this season — and in 14 of the team's last 16 meets over the past three seasons. … Jordan Malikowski (Royalton, Minn.) was also at the top of his game for the Cardinals at the MIAC Championships, clocking a season-best eight-kilometer time of 27:24.39. … Malikowski clocked a time of 28:08.3 to lead the Cardinal men at the UW-La Crosse Jim Drews Invitational on Oct. 19, while Franke posted a time of 24:28.9 in leading the Cardinal women at the UW-La Crosse Tori Neubauer Invitational. … Isaiah Olsem (Fulda, Minn.) toured the eight-kilometer course in 27:11.91 to lead the way for the Cardinal men at the UW-Eau Claire Invitational on Oct. 4, while Malikowski was the top Cardinal male across the finish line at the National Catholic Invitational on Sept. 20, posting an eight-kilometer time of 28:56. Franke stopped the clock with a 5K time of 21:04 to lead the way for the Saint Mary's women at the National Catholic Invitational. … Olsem placed fifth overall with a four-mile time of 22:21 in leading the Cardinal men to a second-place team finish at the Saint Mary's Alumni Open on Sept. 7. … Olsem has led the Cardinal men across the finish line in six of the last nine meets he has competed in. … Marinc recorded a career-best 6K time of 25:02 to lead the Saint Mary's women to a 10th-place finish at the 2018 MIAC Championships. … Malikowski posted his career-best eight-kilometer time in the final meet of the 2018 season, clocking a time of 27:02.3 to pace the Cardinal men to a 23rd-place finish at the season-ending NCAA Central Regional. … Malikowski's time was not only a career-best, but also the fastest 8K time by a Cardinal in 2018.
