WINONA, Minn. — The Saint Mary's University of Minnesota women's tennis team kicked off a busy weekend — in which the Cardinals will play three matches in three days — Friday evening with a nonconference matchup against Crown.

And the Cardinals made quick work of the visiting Storm, dropping just xxxxx in rolling to their season-high sixth straight win — a 9-0 nonconference win at the Winona Tennis Center.

How convincing were the Cardinals in win No. 6 in a row? Saint Mary's lost just one game against the Storm — winning all three doubles matches 8-0, and adding five straight-set 6-0, 6-0 singles wins, while adding a 6-0, 6-1 victory in the other match.

"It was a solid win tonight," said Saint Mary's coach Jeff Halberg. "Everyone got to see action, and came through with a solid performance. Great way to start the weekend."

The Cardinals (8-5 overall) take to the road on Saturday and Sunday for the second and third of their three nonconference matches this weekend. Saint Mary's will square off against St. Norbert on Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Four Seasons Tennis Center in Green Bay, Wis., before heading to the Pleasant Valley Tennis Center in Jackson, Wis., for an 11:30 a.m. match against Concordia (Wis.) on Sunday.
