LA CROSSE, Wis. — The Saint Mary's University men's and women's track and field teams kick off the outdoor portion of their schedule on Saturday, traveling to UW-La Crosse to take part in the Ashton May Invitational

• February 21-23, 2019 • Northfield, Minn.: The Cardinals posted four Top 3, All-MIAC finishes at the indoor season-ending MIAC Championships. The Saint Mary's men, fueled by all-conference efforts from Desmond Steward (Bayside, Wis.) and David Kemper (Woodbury, Minn.) placed eighth in the four-day evening, while Rachel Ohde's (Chetek, Wis.) Cardinals At Ashton May Invitational — Their Last Appearance:
• April 8, 2017 * La Crosse, Wis.: For the second straight week, Becca Dup stole the show for the Cardinals, as the sophomore broke — no, scratch that … shattered — a pair of school records to lead the charge. Dup won the triple jump with a leap of 11.70 meters, while placing fifth in the long jump with a jump of 5.49 meters. Not to be outdone, Jovan Newsum also came home with an event title, as the senior clocked a time of 15:21.04 to easily outrun the rest of the field | Recap

• The Cardinals posted four Top 3, All-MIAC performances at the indoor season-ending MIAC Championships. Rachel Ohde (Chetek, Wis.) cleared 1.65 meters on her first attempt en route to an All-MIAC second-place finish in the high jump, while Desmond Steward (Bayside, Wis.) claimed back-to-back third-place showings in the long jump (6.69m) and triple jump (14.07m), and David Kemper (Woodbury, Minn.) closed out his final indoor conference championships with a mark of 4.32m to finish third in the pole vault. … Ohde placed first or second in all seven high jump competitions she was entered in during the 2019 indoor season. … Christian Beamer (Two Harbors, Minn.) shattered the Cardinal school record in the indoor high jump at the MIAC Championships, clearing 1.96 meters in winning the event as part of the men's heptathlon. Beamer's mark easily broke the old record of 1.91m, set during the 2005 indoor season. … Kyle Lichttenegger (De Pere, Wis.) shattered the school record in the indoor 200 — clocking a time of 22.60 — at the MIAC Championships. … Kemper broke the 14-year-old school record in the indoor pole vault — clearing 4.61 meters — at the St. Thomas Showcase on Feb. 8. The Cardinals garnered six first-place finishes — and one meet record — at the Luther Alumni Meet on Feb. 2. Ohde led the way for the Cardinals, winning the women's high jump with a meet-record 1.62-meter leap. … The Cardinals boasted 10 first-place finishes at the indoor season-opening Early Birdinal.
