GALENA, Ill. — The Saint Mary's University men's golf team entered Saturday's second round of the Midwest Region Classic sitting tied for sixth after an opening-round 315.

And the Cardinals whittled four shots off that Day 1 score, shooting a second-day 311 — only to drop two places in the standings.

Saint Mary's posted a 36-hole 626 total to finish eighth in the 36-team field 36 shots back of team champion Aurora. Edgewood placed second with a 598, followed by Carthage (603), UW-Superior (616), and Loras (619(.

Cooper Craiger (Des Moines, Iowa), who opened with a two-over-par 74 on Friday, shot a second-round 77 to finish with a 151 two-day total and a tie for 14
th overall.

Bryce Galewski (Winona, Minn.) followed up his opening-round 77 with a four-over 76 on Saturday for a 153 total.
Joe Abdo (Edina, Minn.) posted the Cardinals' low round Saturday, shooting a two-over 74 and was one shot back of Galewski at 154.
Blair Sanders (Kansas City, Mo. / 84-84—168) and
Jake Emeott (Chisago City, Minn. / 84-95—179) rounded out the Cardial lineup.

Dawson Hinz of Edgewood took home medalist honors, shooting a even-par 144 (73-71), while Carthage's Kevin Healy (146) was second, two shots back.

The Cardinals are back in action next Saturday and Sunday, heading to the Washington County Golf Course in Hartland, Wis., for the 36-hole Wisconsin Lutheran Invitational.
