GALENA, Ill. — The Saint Mary's University men's golf team is back in action this weekend, heading to Eagle Ridge Resort to take part in the 36-hole Midwest Region Classic, hosted by Benedictine University.

• The Cardinals put together five rounds of 79 or lower last weekend at the UW-Eau Claire Wrigglesworth Invitational. … Bryce Galewski (Winona, Minn.) posted the Cardinals' low round of the tournament last weekend, shooting an opening-round, even-par 72 en route to a team-best 156 total. … Joe Abdo (Edina, Minn.) shot an opening-round 76 and finished second to Galewski with a 159 total, while Blair Sanders (Kansas City, Mo.) recorded Saint Mary's low second-day score with a six-over 78 to finish one shot behind Abdo. Cooper Craiger (Des Moines, Iowa) and Caleb Gundberg (Albertville, Minn.) also had rounds in the 70s last week, with Craiger shooting 79 during the opening round, and Gundberg equaling that mark the following day. … The Cardinals fired a single-day school-record 280 during the second day of the Twin Ports Collegiate on Aug. 31. The 280 bettered the previous school mark by 17 strokes. … Galewski took home Twin Ports Collegiate medalist honors, shooting an opening-round 74, before following that up with a school-record six-under-par 65 for a 36-hole, program record 139. … Galewski has now posted 20 rounds of 79 or lower during his four-year collegiate career. … Galewski wasn't the only Cardinal living below the par line during the second round of the Twin Ports  Collegiate on Aug. 31, as Craiger chipped in a career-best two-under 69 in just his second competitive collegiate round. … Saint Mary's boasted one round under par in 2018, when Abdo posted a career-low one-under 71 during the opening round of the Augsburg Invitational on Sept. 1. … Galewski heads into this weekend's action with a team-best 73.75 stroke average, followed by Craiger (77.75) and Abdo (79.00).
