WINONA, Minn. — Kyle Meeh (Fenton, Mo.) has made a name for himself as one of the top defensemen in the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference during his four years as a member of the Saint Mary's University men's hockey team.

But being a stalwart defensive player is just one tool in the senior's arsenal — just as St. Thomas.

Meeh, a two-time First-Team All-MIAC selection, showed off his offensive prowess in Saint Mary's conference split against St. Thomas last weekend, scoring twice and adding three assists — and earning his second MIAC Athlete of the Week honor in the process, the league office announced Monday.

Meeh kicked off the weekend by recording his second two-goal game of the season — and third of his Saint Mary's career — netting a pair of power-play goals in the Cardinals' 5-4 loss to the Tommies last Friday.

A day later, Meeh was at it again — only this time, he was setting up his teammates — collecting assists on three of the Cardinals' four goals their 4-1 win over St. Thomas in the teams' rematch.

Meeh heads into this weekend's nonconference games against UW-Stout and UW-River Falls leading the team with seven goals, while also sitting second on the team in both assists (6) and points (13).

The Cardinals kick off their final nonconference weekend of the season on Friday, hosting UW-Stout in a 7 p.m. contest at the Saint Mary's Ice Arena. SMU will then host UW-River Falls in a 7 p.m. showdown the following evening, also at the Saint Mary's Ice Arena.
