"This was an absolutely fantastic way to finish the weekend," said Saint Mary's coach Jeff Halberg. "We played a very tough Superior team and battled to a really satisfying victory.

"It was a great effort from all the players."

Robbie Sobczak (Cloquet, Minn.) and Gabe Graves (Littleton, Colo.) teams for an 8-5 win at No. 2 doubles and Nolan Smiley (Minnetonka, Minn.)/Josh Janssen (Green Bay, Wis.) added an 8-7 (3) victory at No. 3 to give Saint Mary'

Brandon Kurilla (Hastings, Minn.), Graves, and Janssen added straight set singles wins at Nos. 2, 4, and 5, respectively, while Trevor Smiley rallied from a set down for a 4-6, 6-3, 10-6 win at No. 3 to seal the win.

The Cardinals (4-2 overall) are back in action on their home courts at the Winona Tennis Center for a pair of matches next Saturday. Saint Mary's will face St. Thomas in a 12:30 p.m. MIAC matchup at 12:30 p.m., followed by a 5 p.m. showdown against the University of Dubuque.
