WINONA, Minn. — Kyle Meeh (Fenton, Mo.) scored a lot of goals during his four-year career as a member of the Saint Mary's University men's hockey team — but the Cardinal senior never netted a hat trick.

That all changed Monday afternoon … sort of.

Meeh capped a stellar collegiate career completing a postseason hat trick, landing his third straight First-Team All-Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference honor when the league office announced its postseason awards Monday afternoon.

And Meeh had plenty of company in the conference's postseason spotlight.

Jack Stang (Mendota Heights, Minn.) and Tommy Stang (Mendota Heights, Minn.) joined Meeh as All-MIAC First-Team selections, while Ryan Stoynich (Calgary, Alberta) and Trevor Wilhelm were honorable-mention All-MIAC picks, and Wilhelm was also selected to the MIAC All-Rookie Team.

Meeh appeared in all 16 conference games for the Cardinals — who closed out the year ranking third in the MIAC in scoring offense (3.38 gpg) — scoring a team-leading 10 goals, while adding eight assists for 18 points. The senior's 10 conference goals were tops among MIAC defenseman — and second only to Gustavus forward Caleb Anderson's league-leading 14 goals — while his 16 points ranked fourth in league play.

Overall, Meeh played in 22 of the Cardinals' 25 games, owning a team-high 13 goals, while sitting fifth in assists (9) and third in points (22). His 13 goals and 22 points were both single-season career highs.

Speaking of career-highs, 2019-20 was just that for senior Jack Stang and his brother, Tommy.

Jack Stang played in all 16 conference games, leading the team — and the conference — with 16 assists, and was third on the team with 16 points. The senior forward closed out his last year in a Cardinal uniform playing in all 25 regular-season games, scoring three goals and adding a team-leading 24 assists for 27 points. Stang, whose 24 assists — the most in a season since Anthony Bohn recorded 26 helpers during the 2007-08 season — and 27 points were both single-season career-bests, recorded his first collegiate four-assist game against Augsburg on Jan. 31 and closed out the season recording two or more assists in a game eight times.

Not to be outdone, Tommy Stang — who was on the receiving end of many of brother Jack's assists — also enjoyed a year to remember, scoring eight goals and adding 14 assists for a team-high 22 points in 16 conference contests. Stang's 14 conference assists ranked No. 2 in the MIAC behind brother Jack, while his 22 points were second to Anderson's 24. The younger Stang closed out his junior campaign netting 11 goals and tallying 17 assists for a team-high 28 points in 25 games this season.

There was no sophomore slump for Stoynich, who finished second to Meeh with eight conference goals and dished out five assists for 13 points in 15 MIAC contests. Overall, the speedy forward tallied career-bests in all three offensive categories — goals (9), assists (9), and points (18).

Wilhelm certainly made a splash in his first year in a Cardinal uniform, scoring twice and tallying 11 assists for 13 points in 16 MIAC contests — ranking him No. 2 behind Meeh in conference assists and No. 3 in freshman scoring. Wilhelm played in all 25 games during his freshman campaign, recording three goals and 13 assists to end the year with 16 points.

Gustavus' Anderson and Concordia's Jacob Stephen shared MIAC Player of the Year honors, with Saint John's coach Doug Schueller, who guided the Johnnies to the MIAC regular-season title, was tabbed MIAC Coach of the Year.

The MIAC also announced the 13th annual All-MIAC Sportsmanship team for men's hockey, which included the Cardinals' Robert Roslund (Vanersborg, Sweden).
