  SAINT MARY'S CARDINALS SCOUTING REPORT
• LAST ACTION: Anna Swanson (Osceola, Wis.) posted a career-best 6K time of 25:25 to lead the SMU women to an 11th-place finish at the MIAC Championships on Oct. 30, while Isaiah Brindamour (Hinckley, Minn.) stopped the clock with an 8K time of 28:10 to lead the way for the three-man men's squad. … Amanda Tuvey (West St. Paul, Minn.) finished right on Swanson's heels, breaking the tape in 25:37, while Caroline Gearin (Osecola, Wis. / 26:46), Emma Ririe (Darien, Ill. / 29:11), and Rachel Simon (Foley, Minn. / 29:43) rounded out the Cardinals' lineup. … On the men's side, Quinn Steinbrecher (Holmen, Wis.) was second to Brindamour across the finish line with a time of 28:44, and Gabe Bickerstaff (Rollingstone, Minn.) chipped in a 29:14 effort.
• DREWS/NEUBAUER: The Cardinals turned in season- and career-best times from all eight runners at the UW-La Crosse Jim Drews/Tori Neubauer Invitationals on Oct. 15. … Tuvey toured the six-kilometer course in a season-best time of 25:16, followed by Swanson (25:29) and Gearin (25:57). Emma Ririe (27:00) and Simon (29:42) rounded out the SMU lineup. … All three Cardinal men also turned enjoyed a career-best afternoon, led by Steinbrecher, who shaved off his previous best eight-kilometer time by stopping the clock in 28:05. Isaiah Brindamour knocked more than a minute off his top time, finishing right behind Steinbrecher in 28:08 and Bickerstaff stopped the clock in a career-best 29:35 to round out the Cardinal runners.
• BLUGOLD RECAP: Tuvey and Steinbrecher posted SMU's top times at the UW-Eau Claire Blugold Invitational on Oct. 1. Tuvey led the way for the short-handed Cardinal women, touring the Whitetail Golf Course layout in a career-best 25:59, while Gearin was close behind in 26:04 and Simon delivered a time of 32:20. Steinbrecher, meanwhile — the lone Cardinal male competing — covered the eight-kilometer course in 29:30.
ST. OLAF REWIND: Steinbrecher  clocked a time of 28:10 to lead the way for the Cardinal men's trio, while Swanson turned in a team-best 26:16 6K effort lead pace the SMU women at the St. Olaf Invitational on Sept. 18. … Along with Steinbrecher's effort, Brindamour  stopped the clock in 29:18, and Bickerstaff chipped in a time of 30:20. … Swanson, who opened the season with a 22:15 5K showing at Augustana, crossed the finish line in 26:15 to lead the way for the SMU women. Gearin and Tuvey were right on Swanson's heels, posting times of 26:22 and 26:54, respectively, with Emma Ririe (Darien, Ill. / 27:44) and Rachel Simon (Foley, Minn. / 33:35) rounding out the Cardinals' lineup.
• COLLEGIATE DEBUTS: The Augustana Twilight on Sept. 3 was the collegiate debut for all three of the Cardinal men's runners — Steinbrecher, Bickerstaff, and Brindamour — as well as women runners Gearin, Emily Kern (Buffalo, Minn.), Audrey Storlie (Hinckley, Minn.), and Tuvey
LEADING THE AUGUSTANA CHARGE: Tuvey toured the five-kilometer women's course at the Augustana Invitational on Sept. 3 in a time of 22:12 to pace the Cardinal women, while Steinbrecher stopped the clock in 22:45 in the men's four-mile race to claim top honors for the SMU men. … Tuvey's time of 22:12 was just enough to edge out Swanson and Gearin (for the team's top time. Swanson stopped the clock in 22:15, followed closely by Gearin in 22:19, while Emma Ririe (Darien, Ill. / 22:54) and Simon (26:52) rounded out the women's lineup. … Brindamour and Gabe Bickerstaff rounded out the SMU men's runners, posting times of 23:56 and 24:06, respectively.
