  SAINT MARY'S CARDINALS SCOUTING REPORT
Saturday's game against Saint Benedict is the second straight home game for the Cardinals, who close out the season with a road game at St. Thomas on Sunday and a home rematch with the Tommies on Tuesday. … For the second straight meeting, Bethel scored all of its goals in one period last Wednesday. The Royals, who scored four times in the third period of a 4-1 win on March 6, netted both goals in the second period in last Wednesday's 2-0 victory over SMU. … The Cardinals picked up their first win of the season with a 2-1 victory over Augsburg on March 4 — snapping their five-game winless streak (0-3-2). … Amber Miller's (Kasson, Minn.) shorthanded goal in the Cardinals' 4-1 loss to Bethel on March 6 was the Cardinals first since Natalie Ryan netted a shortie against St. Olaf on Feb. 16, 2018 — a span of 50 games. … Kennedy Kraus (Kasson, Minn.) and Kaley Manglitz (Onalaska, Wis.) scored Saint Mary's two goals against Augsburg on March 4 — Kraus's was her first collegiate goal, while Magnlitz's was the game-winner. … The Cardinals have had three players record their first collegiate goals this season — Kennedy Kraus, Katie Devine (Glencoe, Ill.), and Sarah O'Brien (Littleton, Colo.). … Saint Mary's seven goals this season have come from seven different players —Miller, Kennedy Kraus, Devine, O'Brien, Manglitz, Jordan Modjeski (South Lyon, Mich.), and Avrey Simonson (Waupaca, Wis.). … Manglitz and Katie Pierpont (Holt, Mich.) lead the team with two assists each, while Manglitz is the team-leader in points with three. … Ary Ziakas (Palatine, Ill.), who finished with a season-high 38 saves in the Cardinals' 4-1 loss to Bethel on March 6, made 26 saves in the teams' rematch last Wednesday. … Ziakas has stopped 30 or more shots four time this season. … Ziakas boasts a 1.71 goals-against-average and a .945 save percentage. … Ziakas stopped all 35 shots she faced in blanking Concordia for her second collegiate shutout on Feb. 6. … Ziakas recorded a career-high 54 saves in the Cardinals' 3-3 tie with No. 5 Hamline on Feb. 8, 2020. The Bennies enter their season-finale against Saint Mary's still searching for their first win of the season. CSB has lost four of its last five (0-4-1) and is winless in its eight contests overall (0-6-2). … The Bennies' last two losses have both been 3-2 decisions — falling to Bethel on Feb. 24 and to Augsburg on March 6. … One of the Bennies' two ties this season came in the first meeting with Saint Mary's on Feb. 17, when the two teams battled to a 2-2 draw. … Brynn Sexauer enters Saturday's showdown with Saint Mary's leading the team in goals with four and points with five. … Rachel DeCesare is second to Sexauer in both goals (2) and points (4), while Julia Pias, Corrine Brown, Riley Schneider, Rylan Bistodeau, Emily Lemker, and Jamie Benzie have accounted for CSB's other six goals. … DeCesare, Pias, Brown, Reegan Padnode, and Maria Wallace all share the team lead with two assists each. … The Bennies have used three different goalies through eight games.
