  SAINT MARY'S CARDINALS SCOUTING REPORT
Saturday's game against Saint Benedict was the second straight home game for the Cardinals, who close out the season with a road game at St. Thomas on Sunday and a home rematch with the Tommies on Tuesday. … The Cardinals picked up their second win of the season on Saturday, blanking Saint Benedict 4-0. … Anne Carmean () scored her first two collegiate goals, and Sydney Green (East Bethel, Minn.) and Sarah O'Brien (Littleton, Colo.) accounted for the other two goals. … Saint Mary's four-goal effort against the Bennies were a season high. … Ary Ziakas (Palatine, Ill.) recorded her second shutout of the season, stopping all 31 shots she faced against Saint Benedict on Saturday. … The Cardinals picked up their first win of the season with a 2-1 victory over Augsburg on March 4 — snapping their five-game winless streak (0-3-2). … Amber Miller's (Kasson, Minn.) shorthanded goal in the Cardinals' 4-1 loss to Bethel on March 6 was the Cardinals first since Natalie Ryan netted a shortie against St. Olaf on Feb. 16, 2018 — a span of 50 games. … Carmean became the fourth Cardinal to net her first collegiate goal this season, joining Kennedy Kraus (Kasson, Minn.), Katie Devine (Glencoe, Ill.), and O'Brien. … Carmean's two-goal effort is SMU's first multiple-goal performance of the season. … Carmean and O'Brien lead the team with two goals each, while Miller, Kennedy Kraus, Devine, O'Brien, Kaley Manglitz (Onalaska, Wis.), Jordan Modjeski (South Lyon, Mich.), and Avrey Simonson (Waupaca, Wis.) have scored the other seven. … Manglitz lead the team with three assists, one more than Delaney Calabrese and Katie Pierpont (Holt, Mich.), while Manglitz is the team-leader in points with four. … Ziakas finished with a season-high 38 saves in the Cardinals' 4-1 loss to Bethel on March 6 and has stopped 30 or more shots five time this season. … Ziakas boasts a 1.51 goals-against-average and a .951 save percentage. … Ziakas stopped all 35 shots she faced in blanking Concordia on Feb. 6 for her second shutout of the year and third of her career. … Ziakas recorded a career-high 54 saves in the Cardinals' 3-3 tie with No. 5 Hamline on Feb. 8, 2020. The 54 saves were 10 more than her previous career best — and the most by a Cardinal goalie since Ashley Corcoran stopped 56 Gustavus shots on Feb. 3, 2017. … Saint Mary's has played two overtime games this season — with both games ending in a tie. … Saint Mary's tie with Concordia on Feb. 6 was the Cardinals' first 0-0 deadlock since battling St. Thomas to a scoreless draw on Nov. 15, 2014. … Six of the Cardinals' nine games this season have been decided by two goals or less, and 20 of Saint Mary's 33 games since the start of last season have been decided by two goals or less. … Nine of the 17 goals the Cardinals have allowed this season have come in the third period.   ST. THOMAS TOMMIES SCOUTING REPORT
Heading into Saturday's game against Bethel, the Tommies had not played since beating Concordia 4-3 on Feb. 24. … The Tommies lost against Bethel on Saturday snapped their four-game winning streak. Prior to Saturday, UST's lone loss this year was a 4-3 loss to Hamline on Feb. 17. … Jenna Hartung scored two of UST's three goals against Bethel on Saturfday, while Fiona Claugherty netted the other. … St. Thomas led 3-1 vs. the Royals Saturday, before surrendering three unanswered goals. … Alyssa Wallace leads the Tommies with five goals, while Maddy Fiedler is the team-leader in both assists (5) and points (7). … Wallace, McEnelly, Luci Bianchi, Anna Solheim, and Alli Pitlick own UST's five game-winning goals. … St. Thomas has used three different goalies this season. Eryn Cooley has compiled a 2.95 goals-against-average and .864 save percentage in 162:54 minutes, while Kylie Watts — who stopped 28 Bethel shots on Saturday — owns a 1.18 GAA and .918 save percentage in 135:59 minutes of action and Kalli Engen boasts a 3.00 GAA and .857 save percentage after making her first career start in UST's win over Concordia on Feb. 24. … St. Thomas has outscored its first seven opponents 28-17, including 12-8  in the third period. … UST has scored first in five of its seven games — with Saturday's setback the first loss in those five games — and is now 5-1-0 when leading after two periods.
