WINONA, Minn. — The Saint Mary's University women's tennis team wrote the perfect script for their final home match of the season, as the Cardinals closed out the home portion of their 2021 schedule with a convincing 7-2 Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference win over Concordia Sunday morning at the Winona Tennis Center.

Jeff Halberg. "The ladies played great and put forth an outstanding effort."

The Cardinals jumped out to a 3-0 lead with three impressive wins in the doubles portion of the conference matchup.
Colleen Lois (Green Bay, Wis.), the Cardinals' lone senior, teamed with
Natalie Peterson (St. Cloud, Minn.) for an 8-1 win at No. 1 doubles — an outcome matched by
Maggie Frye (Colorado Springs, Colo.)/
Maddie Dosser (South St. Paul, Minn.) at No. 3 — while
Kennedy Morgan (Green Bay, Wis.)/
Kailee Johnson (Rochester, Minn.) delivered an 8-2 victory at No. 2.

Riding the wave of momentum from the 3-0 doubles sweep, the Cardinals sealed the win with straight-set singles victories from Peterson, Morgan, Dosser,
Zoie Becker (St James, Minn.), and
Sarrianna Hoffer (Wausau, Wis.).

The Cardinals (3-6 MIAC, 7-6 overall) close out their regular-season schedule on Tuesday, traveling to Carleton for a 4:30 p.m. scrimmage.
