• 0-0: The Saint Mary’s men’s soccer team battled Saint John’s to a 0-0, double-overtime tie last Wednesday. It was the Cardinals’ first tie since a 1-1 stalemate against Carroll on Oct. 3, 2018, and their first 0-0 draw since going scoreless with Carleton on Oct. 24, 2017.
• 0: Luke Gilbertson (Windom, Minn.) tossed a complete-game, six-hit shutout in Game 2 of the Saint Mary’s baseball team’s sweep of Macalester last Thursday. It was the junior’s first collegiate game, and first collegiate shutout. The nine-inning effort was also the longest outing of his Cardinal career.
• 1: Eli Cave (St. Paul, Minn.) became the first Saint Mary’s men’s basketball player named D3hoops.com First-Team All-Region last Wednesday, earning one of just five spots on team.
• 2 x 1: Diego Rivera (Chicago, Ill.) and Cerim Palislamovic (Jacksonville, Fla.) scored the SMU men’s soccer team’s two goals in last Sunday’s 2-1, overtime win over Saint John’s. Both goals were collegiate firsts.
• 2: Both of the Cardinal fastpitch softball team’s wins over Augsburg last Saturday were walk-offs. Hallie Schmeling (Onalaska, Wis.) belted a two-run double to give SMU the 5-4 win in Game 1, while Justine Schultz (Winona, Minn.) smacked a two-run double in the bottom of the ninth for a 7-6 Game 2 win.
• 2: Linnaea Wallis (Dresser, Wis.) was named MIAC Offensive Player of the Week last Monday, becoming the second Cardinal volleyball player to earn a conference weekly honor this spring, joining teammate DeJaye Baab.
• 2: The Saint Mary’s women’s soccer team’s 1-1 tie against Saint Benedict last Sunday was its second straight overtime game. Jordyn Matthews (Seattle, Wash.), scored the game-winning goal in SMU’s 2-1 overtime win over Concordia on April 17, netted the game-tying goal in last Saturday’s 1-1 tie with the Bennies.
• 3-4: Will Matthews (Geneva, Ill.) and Andy Tepp (Stevens Point, Wis.) each put together a 3-for-4 game in the Saint Mary’s baseball team’s two losses to St. Olaf last Saturday. Matthews went 3-for-4 in the opener, while Tepp equaled that feat in the nightcap.
• 4: Daniel Sessler (Brookfield, Ill.) stopped all four shots he faced in the Saint Mary’s men’s soccer team’s 0-0 tie with Saint John’s last Wednesday en route to his first collegiate shutout.
• 4: Trevon VanEgtern (La Crosse, Wis.) drove in a career-high four runs in the Cardinal baseball team’s 14-6, Game 2 loss to St. Olaf last Saturday. It was the Cardinals’ first four-hit game of the season.
• 5: Justine Schultz (Winona, Minn.) and Hallie Schmeling (Onalaska, Wis.) each had five hits in the Cardinal fastpitch softball team’s DH sweep of Augsburg last Saturday. Schmeling had three hits in the opener, while Schultz posted a three-hit effort in the nightcap.
• 6: Reilly Fredell (Colorado Springs, Colo.) picked up his sixth singles win of the season in the Cardinal men’s tennis team’s season-ending 8-1 loss to Carleton last Wednesday. Fredell rallied from a set down to post a 5-7, 6-3, 10-4 win at No. 6 singles.
• 6, 7: Linnaea Wallis (Dresser, Wis.) picked up her sixth and seventh straight double-doubles for the Saint Mary’s volleyball team last week. The senior outside recorded 18 kills and 12 digs in the Cardinals’ match against Saint Benedict last Monday, then added a 19-kill, 10-dig effort against St. Thomas two days later.
• 7: The Saint Mary’s baseball team’s seven hits in their 7-4, Game 1 win over Macalester last Thursday came from seven different players.
• 11: The Saint Mary’s track and field teams combined for 11 first-place finishes at the SMU Drake Alternative last Saturday.
• 15: The Cardinal baseball team stole a season-high 15 bases in their MIAC sweep of Macalester last Thursday, led by Zach Drake (Westby, Wis.), who swiped four bases in five attempts.
• 17: Jordyn Matthews (Seattle, Wash.) scored the game-tying goal with 17 seconds remaining in regulation to lift the Cardinal women’s soccer team to a 1-1, double-overtime tie against Saint Benedict last Sunday.

• 41: Mandy Schmidt (Mitchell, S.D.) dished out 41 assists in the Cardinal volleyball team’s four-set loss to St. Thomas last Wednesday. Schmidt — who has now recorded 40 or more assists in five of the team’s eight matches — also recorded 10 digs for her third collegiate double-double.
• 42.46: Anna Swanson (Osceola, Wis.) won the javelin for the SMU women’s track and field team at the Drake Alternative last Saturday, uncorking a toss of 42.46 meters — tops among all MIAC competitors this season and the eighth-best throw in the nation. …
• 202:53: The Saint Mary’s men’s soccer team played more than 202 minutes in its two games against Saint John’s last week, playing the Johnnies to a 0-0 double-overtime draw last Wednesday, before beating the Johnnies 2-1 on a goal by Cerim Palislamovic (Jacksonville, Fla.) 2:53 into overtime four days later.
