• 2, 1: The Saint Mary’s fastpitch softball team will be making its second straight MIAC Playoff appearance on Saturday, when the Cardinals — who locked up their first MIAC regular-season title since 2001 — host the semifinals and championship game at the Saint Mary’s Field.
• 4: The Cardinal fastpitch softball team scored all seven of their runs in last Friday’s sweep of Hamline in just four innings. SMU plated two runs in the fourth and one in the eighth in its 3-2 Game 1 win, and added a single run in the third and three in the sixth in its 4-2 victory in the nightcap.
• 4: Makayla Steffes (Winona, Minn.) picked up her team-leading fourth save in the Cardinal fastpitch softball team’s 4-2 Game 2 win over Hamline last Friday, retiring both batters she faced in the top of the seventh inning. Steffes’s four saves are a tied for the single-season program record
• 6: Cameron Weber (Holmen, Wis.) delivered six hits in the Cardinal baseball team’s MIAC sweep of St. Scholastica last Friday. The senior went 3-for-3 in SMU’s 2-0 Game 1 victory, and added three more hits in a 3-for-5 showing in the nightcap.
• 21.54: Chris Bulwa (Glenview, Ill.) picked up the SMU men’s track team’s lone individual first-place finish at last Friday’s Hamline Meet of the unSaintly, winning the 200 with a time of 21.54. Bulwa was also a member of the Cardinals’ winning 4x100 relay team.
• 24: The Saint Mary’s track and field team collected 24 Top 10 finishes at last Friday’s Meet of the unSaintly, hosted by Hamline — including first-place efforts by both Chris Bulwa (Glenview, Ill.) and Samantha Kubes (New Prague, Minn.).
• 50.65: Samantha Kubes (New Prague, Minn.) uncorked a throw of 50.65 meters to win the hammer throw at last Friday’s Hamline Meet of the unSaintly. Kubes finished third in last year’s MIAC Outdoor Championships with a throw of 48.67 meters
