• 1: Leah Parker (Hudson, Wis.) netted her first goal in a Saint Mary’s uniform in the Cardinal women’s hockey team’s 4-1 loss to Hamline last Saturday. Parker is the second SMU player to net her first collegiate goal this season.
• 2: Raheem Anthony (Chicago, Ill.) picked up double-doubles in each of the SMU men’s basketball team’s games last week, posting 30 points and 11 rebounds against Crown last Tuesday, and adding 15 points and 10 boards vs. Augustana (Ill.) four days later.
• 3 + 1: The Saint Mary’s women’s and men’s soccer program boasted four honorable-mention All-MIAC selections when the league office announced its post-season awards last week. Alexis Nguyen (West Covina, Calif.), Maya Wachter (Dubuque, Iowa), and Dakota Leonard (Lincolnshire, Ill.) were honorable-mention picks for the SMU women, while Daniel Sessler (Brookfield, Ill.) earned the honor for the men.
• 4 x 2: The Saint Mary’s men’s basketball team put four players in double figures in each of its first two games this season. Raheem Anthony (Chicago, Ill.) led the way for the Cardinals in their 81-69 season-opening win over Crown last Tuesday, scoring 30 points, Jabari Sawyer (Chicago, Ill.) and Breyton Buysman (Inver Grove Heights, Minn.) with 14, and Owen Ziegler (Mount Horeb, Wis.) with 11. Four days later, Anthony netted 15 points, Buysman chipped in 13, and Ziegler and Cameron Mallory (Joliet, Ill.) finished with 12 and 11 points, respectively, in an 81-73 loss to Augustana (Ill.).
• 13: Raheem Anthony’s (Chicago, Ill.) 30-point effort in the SMU men’s basketball team’s season-opening win over Crown last Tuesday marked the 13th time the senior has scored 20 or more points in a game.
• 24:17.2: Emily Kern (Buffalo, Minn.) led the time-shaving parade for the Saint Mary’s women’s cross country team at last Saturday’s NCAA North Regional, clocking the best time of her career — in her final collegiate meet — posting a six-kilometer time of 24.17.2 to lead the Cardinal women to a 26th-place team finish.
• 25: Coming off an honorable-mention All-MIAC performance at the MIAC Championships two weeks ago, Granton Schneider (Moorhead, Minn.) picked up right where he left off last Saturday at the NCAA North Regional, knocking another 25 seconds off his best-ever eight-kilometer time, breaking the tape in 25:56.3 to place 56th overall and lead the way for the SMU men’s cross country team.
• 39: Matt Sankner (Pennington, N.J.) made a career-high 39 saves in the Cardinal men’s hockey team’s nonconference loss to UW-Stevens Point last Friday. Sankner’s 39 saves were four more than his previous career-best of 35, set twice last season.
• 40: Celeste Rimstad (Richfield, Minn.) made a career-high 40 saves in the SMU women’s hockey team’s 4-1 loss to Hamline last Saturday. Rimstad collected 22 of those 40 saves in the second period alone.
• 40+: The Cardinal men’s basketball team has scored 40 or more points in the second half of each of their first two games — netting 42 against Crown on Nov. 8 and 40 vs. Augustana (Ill.) last Saturday. SMU has netted 40 or more points in a half seven time — with six of those seven 40+ efforts coming in the second half.
