• 0 x 2: The Cardinal women’s hockey team’s 3-0 and 8-0 wins over Lawrence last weekend marks the first time since the 2003-04 season in which SMU has posted back-to-back shutouts. SMU did it three times during the 2003-04 season — beating Concordia (3-0) and St. Catherine (5-0); Bethel (3-0 and 5-0); and Hamline 8-0 and 5-0).
• 1: Owen Ziegler (Mount Horeb, Wis.) who knocked down a combined 16 3-pointers and netted 26 and 30 points for the Cardinal men’s basketball team, was named MIAC Offensive Player of the Week last Monday.
• 1 x 3: The SMU women’s hockey team scored single goals in all three periods in last Friday’s 3-0 win over Lawrence. Taryn Dornself (Somerset, Wis.) scored in the first period, Anna Braun (Mantorville, Minn.) in the second, and Sydney Green (East Bethel, Minn.) in the third.
• 2: Collin Tushie (Prior Lake, Minn.) recorded his first collegiate two-goal game in the Saint Mary’s men’s hockey team’s 5-3 win over MSOE last Saturday. Tushie becomes the third Cardinal to score two goals in a game this season, joining Bud Winter (St. Louis, Mo.) and Kellen Tharaldson (Wausau, Wis.)
• 4: The Cardinal women’s hockey team had four players post multiple-point games against Lawrence last Saturday. Katie Devine (Glencoe, Ill.), Jenna Kurkowski (North Branch, Minn.), and Kas Kingston (Black Diamond, Alberta) all had a goal and an assist, while Sidney Polzin (Chippewa Falls, Wis.) had two assists.
• 4: With their 5-3 win over MSOE last Saturday, the Cardinal men’s hockey team pushed its winning streak to four. After opening the season 1-6-1, SMU has rattled off wins over Lawrence (3-1), Gustavus (4-1 & 4-3), and MSOE (5-3).
• 5: The Saint Mary’s men’s hockey team’s five goals in last Saturday’s 5-3 win over MSOE matched their single-game season-high. The Cardinals also netted five goals in a season-opening 5-5 overtime tie against Lake Forst on Oct. 28
• 8: The SMU women’s hockey team’s eight goals in its 8-0 win over Lawrence last Saturday were scored by eight different players — Kas Kingston (Black Diamond, Alberta, Katie Devine (Glencoe, Ill.), Jenna Kurkowski (North Branch, Minn.), Elle Hegdahl (Brookings, S.D.), Anna Braun (Mantorville, Minn.), Anne Carmean (Spring Lake Park, Minn.), Taryn Dornself (Somerset, Wis.), and Leah Parker (Hudson, Wis.).
• 13: The SMU men’s basketball team poured in 13 3-pointers against Concordia last Saturday, led by Raheem Anthony (Chicago, Ill.), who knocked down a four treys, all in the first half, to match his career high.
• 15: Brooklyn Paulson (Holmen, Wis.) scored a team-high 15 points in the Cardinal women’s basketball team’s 83-65 loss to Concordia last Saturday. Paulson has now led the team in scoring in back-to-back games and three times in the Cardinals’ first six contests.
• 15 + 13 = 2: Jordan Keeley (St. Peter, Minn.) and Celeste Rimstad (Richfield, Minn.) both collected shutouts for the SMU women’s hockey team against Lawrence last weekend. Keeley kicked out all 15 shots she faced on Dec. 9 for her first shutout of the season, and fourth of her collegiate career, while Rimstad stopped all 13 shots in the rematch the following afternoon for career shutout No. 1.
• 28: Raheem Anthony scored a team-high 28 points in the Cardinal men’s basketball team’s 82-77 loss to Concordia last Saturday. It was the second straight game, and the fourth time in seven contests, that the senior has scored 20 or more points in a game.
• 121: The Cardinal women's hockey team put 121 shots on goal in their sweep of Lawrence last weekend. The 59 shots on goal last Friday rank No. 6 all-time, while their 62 shots the following afternoon are tied for No. 3 all-time. The program-record for shots on goal in a game is 80 against St. Olaf on Nov. 11, 2000.
• 208: With her second 3-pointer of the game with 7:34 remaining in the fourth quarter Wednesday evening, Brooklyn Paulson (Holmen, Wis.) surpassed Ashley Luehmann ’06 to become the Saint Mary’s women’s basketball team’s all-time career-leader in made 3-pointers with 208.
