• 1: Madison Kindler (Sussex, Wis.) collected her first collegiate two-hit game in the Cardinal fastpitch softball team’s Game 2 loss to St. Olaf last Sunday.
• 2 x 2: Tyler O’Brien (Belle Plaine, Minn.) and Mason Coyle (Madison, Wis.) each posted two-hit games in the Cardinal baseball team’s 5-4, 10-inning win over St. Olaf in the opening game of their MIAC doubleheader last Saturday.
• 3: The Saint Mary’s fastpitch softball team had three players post multiple-hit games in its conference doubleheader against Carleton last Saturday. Erin Sullivan (Wisconsin Rapids, Wis.) recorded a pair of hits in Game 1, while Riley Hall (Dallas Station, Iowa) went 3-for-4 and Allison Ciero (Glen Ellyn, Ill.) had two hits in three at-bats in the nightcap.
• 3-0: Andrew Fischer (La Crosse, Wis.) ran his record to 3-0 in the Cardinal baseball team’s 5-4, 10-inning win over St. Olaf in Game 1 of the teams’ MIAC twinbill last Saturday. Fischer did not allow a run or a hit in three innings of relief, walking one and striking out four.
• 3-5: Hammer throwers Sean Curran (Appleton, Wis.) and Frankie Bakalars (La Crosse, Wis.) both finished in the top five for the SMU men’s track and field team at last Saturday’s Ashton May Invitational. Curran uncorked a throw of 53.95 to place third, while Bakalars added a fifth-place toss of 51.97 meters.
• 7: The Cardinal fastpitch softball team banged out seven doubles in their MIAC doubleheader against Carleton last Saturday. Cassie Sutor (Chicago, Ill.) and Sarah Kraus (Onalaska, Wis.), while Riley Hall (Dallas Station, Iowa) cracked two doubles, and Kraus, Allison Ciero (Glen Ellyn, Ill.), and Mackenzie Carey (Prescott, Wis.) accounted for the other three in the nightcap.
• 10: The SMU women’s tennis team dropped just four games in winning all four contested matches in straight sets in the last Saturday’s 9-0 win over Hamline. Natalie Peterson (St. Cloud, Minn.) won 6-1, 6-2 by at No. 1, Kennedy Morgan (Green Bay, Wis.) added a 6-1, 6-4 win at No. 2), while Zoie Becker (St. James, Minn.) and Maggie Frye (Colorado Springs, Colo.) dominated at No. 3 and No. 4, winning 6-1, 6-0 and 6-0, 6-1, respectively.
• 10: The Saint Mary’s baseball team’s 5-4 win over St. Olaf last Saturday was its second extra-inning game of the season — with both ending in a walk-off Cardinal victory. SMU also beat Luther 7-6 in 11 innings on March 13.
• 15: The Saint Mary’s women’s tennis team ran its winning streak against Hamline to 15 in a row last Saturday, as the Cardinals made it look easy in breezing to a 9-0 Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference victory. The Cardinals have not lost to the Pipers since March 4, 2001.
• 19: The Saint Mary’s baseball and fastpitch softball teams played a combined 19 innings in the first games of their conference doubleheaders last Saturday. The Cardinal baseball team went 10 innings in beating St. Olaf 5-4, while the SMU fastpitch team dropped a 3-2, nine-inning decision to Carleton.
