11/8/2023 2:02:00 PM

WINONA, Minn. — Ciarra McNally (Lewiston, Minn.) has certainly left her mark on the Saint Mary's University volleyball program.

Over the past three seasons, McNally has led the team, and been among the conference and NCAA leaders, in kills — including collecting a single-season career-high 424 kills in 2023.

And Wednesday afternoon, McNally found herself in a familiar position — sitting in the MIAC post-season spotlight, as the Cardinal senior outside hitter was named All-MIAC for a third consecutive season.

McNally played every set of the Cardinals' 11 conference matches this season, delivering 135 kills (3.46 kps), while adding 98 digs, 14 blocks and 10 service aces.

McNally, who posted 331 kills as a sophomore in 2021 and added 346 kills a year ago as a junior, saved her best for last — uncorking a team- and conference-leading 424 kills in 30 overall matches this season, while also boasting a conference-best 1,320 attack attempts.

McNally delivered 10 or more kills in 27 of the team's 30 matches — including a season-high 24 kills against UMN Morris on Sept. 2 — also finished second on the team with 291 digs and posted a single-season, career-high 15 kill-dig double-doubles.

With her ninth kill against Central-Iowa on Sept. 23, McNally became the 14th player in program history to reach 1,000 career kills. McNally closed out her illustrious career owning 1,183 kills, leaving her 11th all-time.

Gustavus' Kasie Tweet was named the MIAC Offensive Player of the Year, while Jenna Rubbelke of Hamline took home MIAC Defensive Player of the Year honors. Peyton Howie of Bethel was selected MIAC Rookie of the Year, and Gustavus' Rachelle Sherden was tabbed the conference's Coach of the Year.
