• 2: Colin Tushie (Prior Lake, Minn.) posted his second career two-goal game, finding the back of the net twice in the SMU men’s hockey team’s 4-4 tie with Gustavus — including the game-tying goal with 11.9 seconds remaining in regulation.
• 3: The Saint Mary’s hockey teams boasted three MIAC Players of the Week last week. Bud Winter (St. Louis, Mo.) was named the MIAC Offensive Player of the Week in men’s hockey, while Sophia Paduano (Westby, Wis.) and Celeste Rimstad (Richfield, Minn.) swept the Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week honors, respectively, in women’s hockey.
• 5: The Saint Mary’s men’s basketball team put five players in double figures in last Wednesday’s 90-64 loss at Saint John’s — Cameron Mallory (Joliet, Ill. / 13 points), Jabari Sawyer (Chicago, Ill. / 11), Bruce Lockwood (Shakopee, Minn. / 11), Breyton Buysman (Inver Grove Heights, Minn. / 10), and Jemari Moore (Broadview, Ill. / 10). It was the first time SMU has put five players in double figures in the same game since Jan. 15, 2022. … SMU has now put at least three players in double figures in five of their first six games.
• 9: Nikia Sheberov (Obninsk, Russia) and Nick Kiemel (Colorado Springs, Colo.) scored first-period goals nine seconds apart in the SMU men’s hockey team’s 4-4 tie against Gustavus last Saturday.
• 11: The SMU men’s hockey team’s 12 points (4 G, 8 A) in last Saturday’s 4-4 tie against Gustavus came from 11 different players. Only Colin Tushie (Prior Lake, Minn.), who scored twice, had more than one point in the overtime tie.
• 12 x 2: Autumn Passehl (La Crosse, Wis.) and Lindsey Lettner (Trempealeau, Wis.) each scored a single-game career-high 12 points in the SMU women’s basketball team’s 74-55 loss to Saint Benedict last Wednesday.
• 20+ x 2: Cameron Mallory (Joliet, Ill.) scored 21 points and Breyton Buysman (Inver Grove Heights, Minn.) added 20 in the SMU men’s basketball team’s 94-84 overtime loss to St. Olaf last Saturday. It was the first time this season the Cardinals have had two players score 20 or more points in the same game.
• 23: Grace Schaffer (Farmington, Minn.) scored a career-high 23 points in the SMU women’s basketball team’s 74-64 loss to St. Olaf last Saturday. The sophomore is the second Cardinal to reach the 20-point barrier this season, joining Izzy Goettelman (Winona, Minn.).
• 37: Celeste Rimstad (Richfield, Minn.) finished with 37 saves — including 26 in the first two periods combined, In the SMU women’s hockey team’s 3-1 loss to defending national champion Gustavus last Friday.
• 84: The Saint Mary’s men’s basketball team scored a season-high 84 points in last Saturday’s 94-84 overtime loss to Hamline. It was the first time this season SMU had reached the 80-point barrier.
