• FOR THE RECORD: The Cardinals head into their home-opener against Wartburg sporting a 1-0-0 record — thanks to last Friday’s 6-0 win over UMN Morris. SMU closed out the 2022 season sitting at 11-5-2 overall, including closing out conference play with a 6-3-2 in conference mark.
• LAST TIME OUT: Saint Mary’s got goals from six different players — scoring three times in each half — en route to a 6-0 nonconference win over UMN Morris last Friday in Morris, Minn.
• HOME SWEET HOME: The Cardinals went 6-1-2 in their eight home games last season and are 11-2-4 in their last 16 home games. SMU closed out the season 5-5-0 away from Ochrymowycz Field a year ago.
• STREAKING ALONG: With their 6-0 win over UMN Morris last Friday, the Cardinals improved to 10-2-2 in their last 14 games.
• SPREADING THE WEALTH: Saint Mary’s six goals in last Friday’s 6-0 win over UMN Morris came from six different players — Genesis Capacio (Las Vegas, Nev.), Lauryn Skoruppa (Littleton, Colo.), Samantha Munson (Plain City, Utah), Brooklyn McKinney (Thornton, Colo.), Hannah Bradley (Portland, Ore.), and Dakota Leonard (Lincolnshire, Ill.).
• CAREER FIRST: Bradley netted her first collegiate goal in last Friday’s 6-0 win over UMN Morris. The Cardinals had five players record their first collegiate goals a year ago.
• CAREER FIRST II: Munson collected her first collegiate multiple-point game, scoring once and assisting on two others for a four-point effort in SMU’s 6-0 win over UMN Morris last Friday.
• LEADER OF THE PACK: Six players share the team lead in goals with one each. Haddy Falkman (Waconia, Minn.) closed out 2022 leading the team in goals with five, one more than McKinney.
• LENDING A HAND: Munson owns the team lead with two assists, one more than Leonard, Lauren Ashe (Beaverton, Ore.), Anna Warneke (), Ella Lahart (), and Peyton Maier (). … Leonard led the Cardinals with three assists in 2022.
• POINT PRODUCER: Munson sits atop the team’s points race with four, followed by Leonard with three, and McKinney, Bradley, Skoruppa, and Capacio with two each…. Falkman closed out 2022 with a team-best 13 points (5 G, 3 A).
• BETWEEN THE PIPES: Anna Peckosh (Cedar Rapids, Iowa) did not have to face a shot in 56 minutes of work against UMN Morris last Friday, while Megan Nadal (Chino, Calif.) stopped the lone shot she faced in 34 minutes of relief. … Peckosh has not allowed a goal in five career appearances (248:05 minutes), stopping all 13 shots she’s faced. … Nadal has stopped 10 of the 11 shots she faced in her three career appearance in goal (81:00 minutes).
• GOALKEEPING FIRSTS: Peckosh stopped a career-high eight shots in racking up career shutout No. 1 against UW-Stevens Point on Oct. 16, 2022. … Peckosh made her first collegiate start against UW-Stout on Oct. 5, 2022, stopping both Blue Devil shots she faced in 45:00 of play, while making her first appearance in a Cardinal uniform on Sept. 17, 2022, making three saves in 22 minutes of relief in SMU’s 3-0 loss to Saint Benedict. … Nadal made her first collegiate start on Sept. 21, 2022 against Luther, stopping seven first-half shots.
• THROWING UP ZEROS: Fifteen of Saint Mary’s last 20 games have been decided by shutout — including 10 of SMU’s last 12 wins.
• CRUNCHING THE NUMBERS: The Cardinals, with their three second-half goals against UMN Morris last Friday, Saint Mary’s has now netted 18 of its last 28 goals in the second half. … SMU’s six goals against the Cougars last Friday are the most since SMU poured in 11 goals against Martin Luther on Sept. 6, 2021. …

• FOR THE RECORD: The Knights head into Sunday’s nonconference game against Saint Mary’s still searching for their first win, having dropped a 3-1 decision to Hope College in their season-opener last Friday.
• LAST TIME OUT: Hope scored three unanswered goals, erasing an early 1-0 Wartburg lead in dealing the Knights a 3-1 season-opening loss last Friday in Waverly, Iowa.
• HOME SWEET HOME: Wartburg plays six of its first seven games on its home field – the lone exception, Sunday’s nonconference game at Saint Mary’s. … The Knights closed out the 2022 campaign boasting a 9-2-0 record at Salzwedel Field.
• SEASON TO REMEMBER: Wartburg — currently ranked No. 23 in the United Soccer Coaches preseason poll — is coming off a 16-3-2 season a year ago, including a berth in the NCAA Tournament, where the Knights beat Grinnell (5-2), before falling to Washington (Mo.) • BETWEEN THE PIPES: Alena Miller was busy between the pipes for the Knights against Hope last Friday, stopping nine of the 12 shots she faced. … Marissa Lopez played every minute of Wartburg’s 21 games last season, compiling a 0.75 goals-against-average and an .824 save percentage. … Lopez closed out her senior season in 2022 with 12 shutouts.
