Men's Soccer Loses Heartbreaker to Macalester

WINONA, Minn. – It was a brisk Wednesday night, the Cardinals hosted the visiting Macalester College Scots as the season nears its end, and would come up short in a loss.

The Cardinals went on the attack early with a shot from Thomas Laaksonen within the first two minutes, but it would get saved by the goalkeeper.

Quickly countering, the Scots sent shot after shot at goalkeeper Daniel Sessler, racking up 6 shots in the first 20 minutes. Trying to steal momentum back, the Cardinals got the ball and paved the way for Aldo Campagne to take a shot at the net, but it would be blocked.

After that it was all Macalester, taking six more shots between the 33rd minute and the 42nd minute. It would all culminate with a rebound shot from the Scots to take the lead with 30 seconds left in the half.

After some back and forth play, the Scots would take control and go down the field and take a shot 58 minutes in, however Sessler would save it once again.
