WINONA, Minn. – It was a brisk Wednesday night, the Cardinals hosted the visiting Macalester College Scots as the season nears its end, and would come up short in a loss.

The Cardinals went on the attack early with a shot from
Thomas Laaksonen within the first two minutes, but it would get saved by the goalkeeper.

Quickly countering, the Scots sent shot after shot at goalkeeper
Daniel Sessler, racking up 6 shots in the first 20 minutes. Trying to steal momentum back, the Cardinals got the ball and paved the way for
Aldo Campagne to take a shot at the net, but it would be blocked.

After that it was all Macalester, taking six more shots between the 33rd minute and the 42nd minute. It would all culminate with a rebound shot from the Scots to take the lead with 30 seconds left in the half.

Going into the second half, Sessler has six saves and the team as a whole has two shots.

Coming off the goal to end the half, the Scots immediately looked for a second goal with a shot early. The Cardinals would swiftly counter this with a shot of their own by
Cohan Hare at the 51st minute.

After some back and forth play, the Scots would take control and go down the field and take a shot 58 minutes in, however Sessler would save it once again.

Maintaining control of the ball, Macalester took their 18th shot of the game at the 66th minute mark. The Cardinals just couldn't get of out of their own side of the field.

Trying to tie the game,
Gio Barron shot towards the net, however it would be saved by the opposing goal keeper.
Diego Giles would do the same with 10 minutes remaining, but it to would not find the net.Â

Macalester would then take control back from the Cardinals and would hang on and win the game 1-0, resulting in a loss for the Cardinals. Sessler recorded 10 saves.

The Cardinals will play at home once again this upcoming Saturday and will host the visiting Carleton College. The game will be youth day and senior night for the Cardinals!
