WINONA, Minn. – Early pressure for the Cardinals led to early goals in a 3-0 win against Beloit College Saturday afternoon. The Cardinals are now 3-0 on the season.

The Cardinals had a perfect first half completely shutting out the Bucs. The Bucs had zero shot attempts, shots on goal, or corners in the first, it was all Cardinals. Saint Mary's took a record high 21 shots in the first half landing two of them in the back of the net.

The first goal came at 10:22 with a clean shot over the keeper by
Brooklyn McKinney assisted by
Maya Wachter. To build the lead, the Cardindals kept the pressure on and
Lauryn Skoruppa had a well-placed ball to the back of the net putting. The second goal was a well put ball by
Samantha Munson.

Picking right up where they left off, the Cardinals were fouled in the box only 19 seconds into the half for a penalty shot low to the left by
Dakota Leonard leading to the first goal of the half.

The Cardinals kept feeding the ball forward with another chance with a ball toÂ
Melanie LaDue which resulted in an off target shot just wide.

The Cardinal finished the game only allowing one shot on goal all day posting a clean shutout for
Mckenzie Munson.

The Cardinals return home tomorrow against Grinnell at 1:30pm.
