Trio of Cardinals Score to Remain Undefeated

WINONA, Minn. – The Cardinal men's soccer team ends the weekend home stand undefeated beating Minnesota Morris 3-0. Three Cardinals each scored.

Kicking off the game with three early chances at a goal, the Cardinals were eyeing another win. Shots by Steven Lindor-Muller and Francesco Cardone. Quickly after, the Cardinals three corners in the span of two minutes in an attempt to score, coming up empty.

The Cardinals had control for a span of ten minutes as the Cougars did not have a shot on goal. On our end, another five corner set pieces were attempted. The Cardinals had a whopping eight corners in the first half. A frustrated Cougar fouled a Cardinal in the box leading to a penalty kick.

CJ Tree took the penalty shooting past the keeper to take a 1-0 lead at the end of the half in the 43rd.

Aldo Campagne opened the half with a header with some contact to the back of the net after a great serve into the box from Lindor-Mueller.

Saint Mary's broke down the defense of the Cougars with service balls off four more corners getting good looks from Lars Bergo and Sebastian Martinez.

Nearing the end, the Cardinals did not let up and Than Soe caught the Cougar defense sleeping with a perfectly placed pass to Santiago Montero resulting in a late goal to win 3-0.

The Cardinals return to the pitch Wednesday, Sept. 11 at UW-Stout for a 7pm start.
