NORTHFIELD, Minn. - On Friday night, a small group of Saint Mary's Cardinals from the track and field team made their way to St. Olaf College for the first day of the two-day Invitational.
 
MEN
 
Senior Aidan Gatz secured a 5th-place finish in the men's pole vault, clearing a height of 4.05 meters. Meanwhile, sophomore Isaiah Fitzgerald took 20th in the tough competition of the 5000m run with a personal best time of 16:00:30!
 
WOMEN

Senior Kendra Schneider, the only woman representing the team, competed in the 5000m and set a new personal record with a time of 19:26:39!

The Track and Field team is splitting up for the next competition tomorrow, with half returning to St. Olaf for day two of the Invitational, which kicks off at 10 a.m., while the other half heads to UW-La Crosse for the Pat Healy Classic, starting at 12 p.m.
