MANKATO, Minn. – The regular season wrapped up in style for the Saint Mary's track and field team as the Cardinals delivered clutch performances at the Maverick Open, hosted by Minnesota State University, Mankato.

Sprinter Ryan Cramer stole the spotlight, blazing to a first-place finish in the 60m with a school-record time of 6.88. The mark, which had stood since 2020, launched him into the top 50 nationally in Division III. Teammate Zari Young also made waves in the women's 60m, placing fifth in 7.84 after clocking a season-best 7.77 in the prelims, good for a top-50 national ranking of her own.

Mya Slavin added to her record-breaking campaign, shattering a school record in the women's 1000m that had stood since 2006. Her time of 2:58.84 earned her a first-place finish and yet another spot in the program record book.

In the 200m, Samantha Munson raced to a third-place finish in 25.86, while Young doubled back to place 12th in 26.69. Goi Ruei delivered a season-best performance in the men's 800m, clocking 2:00.15 to take third.

Isaiah Fitzgerald turned in a personal-best 4:20.17 in the men's mile to finish fourth, while Levi Jacobs also recorded a PR in the mile with a 4:49.54 effort.

In the field events, sophomore Xara Gun continued her strong run in the pole vault, clearing a season-best 3.35m to place ninth. She also added a 10th-place finish in the high jump (1.39m). Freshman Ron White led the Cardinals in the weight throw with a 13.49m mark, followed by Rowan Sween (12.78m) and Collin Malecha, who posted a personal-best 10.16m. Ameryn Dostal capped the field performances with a sixth-place leap of 10.68m.

With momentum building at just the right time, the Cardinals now turn their focus to the MIAC Indoor Track & Field Championships, set for Feb. 27–28 at Carleton College in Northfield.
