MOORHEAD, Minn. — Saint Mary's women's soccer (8-2-2, 2-1-2) earned its second conference point of the season with a hard-fought 2–2 draw against Concordia-Moorhead (0-6-4, 0-4-1) Saturday afternoon, led by a two-goal performance from Lauryn Skoruppa.
Skoruppa opened the scoring in the 27th minute, finishing a low shot to the bottom left corner after the Cardinals built pressure with a flurry of early throw-ins and a corner. Goalkeeper Anna Peckosh stood tall throughout the half, registering multiple saves to help preserve a 1–0 lead at the break.
Concordia responded early in the second half, equalizing in the 52nd minute with a top-shelf strike. Just four minutes later, the Cobbers struck again to give Concordia a 2–1 lead.
Saint Mary's answered in the 78th minute when Skoruppa delivered her second of the game, once again targeting the lower left corner with a right-footed strike off a setup from Lauren Fields, knotting the game at 2–2.
Despite both teams pushing for a winner, the final 12 minutes remained scoreless. Peckosh ended the match with five saves, while the Cardinals registered 13 shots overall.
The Cardinals return to action Saturday, October 11th hosting St. Catherine for a 3:30 p.m. game.
