WINONA, Minn. - It was a successful Saturday afternoon for the Saint Mary's tennis teams as they hosted Ripon College. Both teams delivered standout performances, winning every match.Â
WOMEN
Alli Laux made an impressive Cardinal debut, dominating her first match without conceding a single point.
Elena Ruzevich and
Olivia Molumby allowed just one point in her convincing victory.
Kathryn Steigel took her opponent to an extra set and one the tie breaker to complete the teams 7-0 win on the day.
MEN
In the doubles match, teammates
Evan Huemoeller and
Gavin Pratt battled their opponents to a tiebreaker and came out on top with a win.
Huemoeller and
Zak Farley only gave up two points in their convincing victory in singles. Phil Apel conceded just two. The men would take the 7-0 win over Ripon.
The teams played outstandingly at home, and the scores reflected their strong performance.
The Cardinals will continue their homestand on Friday, February 7th, with a 5 p.m. game against Crown College. It will also be the Edina Realty Sock Drive—bring your new or gently used socks to donate!
