ARDEN HILLS, Minn. - The Saint Mary's men's tennis team (6-5) traveled to the cities to face off against conference opponent the Bethel Royals (3-2) in their third conference matchup of the season. On Friday evening, the Cardinals were swept 9-0.
The first doubles match was a hard-fought battle until the very end. Teammates
Gavin Pratt and
Evan Huemoeller pushed their Royal opponents to a tight super-breaker, ultimately falling short.
The Cardinals struggled across singles play, with each player falling in straight sets.
Michael Johnson lost in what seemed to be the closest match of the night 6-3, 6-4.
The team had difficulty finding their rhythm, giving the Royals their first conference win.Â
They will look to bounce back at home on Saturday, March 1st, at 1:30 p.m. against Macalester.
