DUBUQUE, Iowa - The Cardinal tennis teams hit the road for the first time this year and it was a snowy one! Both the men's and the women's teams took home 6-1 victories to extend their winning streaks.
MEN
The men's team faced a tough challenge, battling hard and pushing to just about the last point in every match but came up on top, 6-1.
Michael Johnson and
Gavin Pratt took their opponent into a super-breaker and picked up two wins. Phil Apel nailed a win in a tie-breaker.
All three double squads took home victory to give their team a boost.
WOMEN
The women's tennis team extends their winning streak to five with today's 6-1 victory over the Spartans.
Emily Henderson and
Christina Jones earned a win in their singles match after going into a super-breaker set.Â
Alli Laux continues her individual winning streak winning 6-2, 6-2.
Elena Ruzevich and
Emily Dondelinger made commanding wins to add to their individual resumes.
"The teams made great adjustments when they needed to." Head coach
Jeff Halberg said.
The Cardinals return home Friday, February 14th to host Edgewood College in another non-conference match up starting at 6 p.m.
