BLOOMINGTON, Minn. - The Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) announced its award honorees for the 2024-25 Men's Hockey season on Wednesday. Saint Mary's
Colin Tushie,
Cole Mickel, and
Joona Juntunen all received post-season honors.
After leading his team with 11 goals and 27 points this season, fourth in the conference, Tushie earned All-Conference honors for being an offensive threat to his opponents. The forward from Prior Lake, Minnesota, received this recognition for the second consecutive year.
Tushie netted a season-high two goals against Bethel and tallied three assists at Lawrence. A key contributor to the Cardinal offense, he also played in every game this season making it a pain for defenders to catch a break!
In his first season as a Cardinal, sophomore defenseman
Cole Mickel earned his first All-Conference honors for his crucial role in preventing opponents from scoring. Mickel was not only a wall on the defensive end, but he also showed an eye for scoring. He totaled 17 points for the Cardinals, including 14 assists. He recorded a season-high three assists against Lawrence and blocked four shots against Concordia.
Also in his first year as a Cardinal, forward
Joona Juntunen from Hyvinkää, Finland, earned MIAC Honorable Mention as a freshman. He was the only freshman in the conference to receive this honor.
Juntunen scored seven goals this season but stood out with 17 assists, the most on his team and the third-highest in the entire conference. His ability to read the ice and create opportunities for his teammates made him a major offensive threat, earning him Honorable Mention honors. He set a career high with two goals against Dubuque, also adding two assists in the same game.
The Cardinals finished with an overall record of 11-13-1 and a 6-8-1 mark in conference play, highlighted by a five-game winning streak from November into December.

Connor Kalthoff were selected by MIAC head coaches as the Offensive and Defensive Players of the Year, respectively. St. Scholastica first-year defender
Wyatt Wurst was named Rookie of the Year, while Gustavus head coach
Tyler Walsh was recognized by his peers with Coach of the Year honors.
