ST. PAUL, Minn. - The Saint Mary's track and field program continued on with their admirable performances in the MIAC outdoor championships on the second and final day of competition. In a fantastic finish to the MIAC Outdoor Track and Field Championships, the Cardinals brought home one title and set numerous personal records along the way.

Yesterday saw a wave of standout performances, highlighted by the men's 4x800m relay team with Zander Olmshenk,
Goi Ruei,
Grant Schneider, and
Cade Kloss by breaking the school record with a time of 7:58.45.Â

The momentum carried into today, both on and off the track.Â
Â
The men's 4x100m relay team of
Ben Kritsberg,
Ryan Cramer,
Jinwoo Jung, and
Oliver Adamson made a strong statement, placing third with a time of 41.80 seconds, good for third all-time in program history.Â

Not to be outdone, the women's 4x100m squad—
Zari Young, Kenzie Munson,
Melissa Torres, and
Samantha Munson—finished fourth in 48.09, breaking their own school record set earlier this season.

In the 3000m steeplechase, Schneider ran a massive personal record by finishing the race in 9:47.87 and placing 12th in a race where he was seeded 18th. He also moved into the third all time spot in school history!Â

Perhaps the most impressive race of the meet was Young in the 100m dash.

In an impressive upset, sje finished in 11.88s, crushing both her previous personal best and her own school record. Her first place finish claimed Young the conference title.Â

Samantha Munson finished sixth at 12.29s.

In the 200m, Adamson narrowly missed scoring, placing ninth in 22.30s.Â

In the women's 200m, Munson and Young finished seventh and eighth respectively with Munson finishing with a new personal best, again, with 25.67s and Young at 25.94s.Â

Few athletes also raced in the 5000m race, including
Isaiah Fitzgerald for the men, who ran 24th with a time of 16:16.13s.Â

In the women's 5000m,
Mya Slavin, after returning from many races yesterday, managed a new personal best of 18:48.63 and finished ninth. Kendra Schneider, returning from a 10k the previous night, sprinted past numerous athletes in her last lap to reach a 25th place finish in the event, with a time of 19:50.52.

In the last event on the track, the 4x400m relay, the team of Cramer,
Brady Johnson, Ruei, and
Eddie Paton finished ninth with a new season best time of 3:23.76.Â

The women's team (Slavin,
Megan Frosch,
Lola Schwinghamer, and
Abbie Meyer) also had a season best time of 4:27.42.

In the field events,
Xara Gin finished 12th in the high jump, clearing 1.44m.Â

Ameryn Dostal performed well in the women's triple jump, finishing in 10th place with a jump of 10.12m.Â

In the men's Javelin,
Henry Gathje finished 16th with a throw of 41.70m.Â

The women's hammer had an impressive showing, with
Morgan Wallendal finishing fourth overall with her personal best throw of all time - 49.83m.
Anna Becker had a season best as well and took seventh place, her best throw measuring 46.42m.Â

Overall, the men's team finished in 10th place, scoring eight points overall.Â
Â
The women's team finished 8th, scoring 40 total points! This was the women's highest finish since 2021.

While most of the Cardinals will return home for their summer break, select athletes will return to compete next weekend at the US-La Crosse Final Qualifier "Last Chance" meet, where they will make their final attempt to secure a spot in DIII nationals, which will be held in Geneva, Ohio May 22nd-24th.
