ST. JOSEPH, Minn. – On a rainy Wednesday afternoon, the Saint Mary's women's soccer (3-6-1, 1-3-0) team battled a tough Saint Benedict Bennies (7-1-1, 2-1-1) team, dropping the conference matchup 5-1.
Despite taking an early 1-0 lead thanks to a turnover in the backfield, Hannah Bradley found the back of the net just three minutes into the game.
The Bennies turned the game around from that moment.
They scored five unanswered to shut the door in the Cardinals' face.
It was a relatively even matchup, with the Cardinals having six shots on goal compared to the Bennies eight.
Freshman Sofia Serafin had a season-best four shots to lead the Cardinals.
Looking Ahead
The Cardinals will host the Hamlime Pipers on Saturday, Oct. 3 for a 1:00 p.m. kickoff.
