Jovan Newsum (Glendale Heights, Minn.) became the first Cardinal men’s cross country runner in program history to qualify for the NCAA Division III National Championships, after finishing 25th at last Saturday’s NCAA Central Regional.

Newsum shattered the Cardinal men’s eight kilometer school record, placing 25th overall with a time of 25:40—while also earning his first all-region honor.
