Mate enjoyed a banner week, collecting a team-leading 30 kills — including a season-best 17 kills vs. Bethel Saturday — in leading the Saint Mary's University volleyball team to back-to-back 3-0 conference wins last week.

Mate, who averaged 5.0 kills-per-set and hit .320 in SMU's two matches last week — 3-0 wins vs. Macalester and Bethel — has appeared in 54 sets this season, recording 147 kills (2.72 kps), while adding a team-leading 20 service aces, 92 digs and 17 blocks.
