Sankner was busy between the pipes for the Cardinal men’s hockey team last weekend, recording 60 saves in Saint Mary’s conference split against Saint John’s.
 
The freshman goalie kicked off the weekend stopping a career-high 35 shots en route to his first collegiate victory in Saint Mary’s 2-1 road victory against the Johnnies last Thursday. Two nights later, making his second straight start, Sankner made 25 saves — including 14 in the first period — in SMU’s 3-2, overtime loss to SJU.
