VanEgtern hitting a remarkable .600 in his four games as part of Saint Mary’s 4-2 week.
VanEgtern kicked off his week going 3-for-4 with a run scored in the Cardinals’ sweep of Hamline last Tuesday — an effort that included a 3-for-3 effort in SMU’s 6-4, Game 1 win.
After missing Saint Mary’s split against Augsburg on Wednesday, VanEgtern returned to the lineup — and was in tip-top form — against Gustavus last Saturday. VanEgtern collected three more this in six at-bats — including a 3-for-4, one-home run Game 2 showing — in the Cardinals’ two losses to the Gusties.
For the week, VanEgtern finished with a .600 batting average (6-for-10) with a double and a home run, while recording two RBIs, two runs scored and a pair of walks
