: The Cardinals posted a split in its two exhibition games against Lindenwood last weekend. SMU?opened the series with a 3-2 overtime victory Saturday, while the Lions earned the split with a 3-1 win on Sunday. St. Catheirne, while, dropped both ends of a two-game MIAC?series vs. St. Olaf, falling 2-1 in overtime on Friday, then losing the second game 4-1.

Last Meeting: St. Catherine swept the Cardinals for the first time ever a year ago. SMU enjoyed one of its best offensive nights of the season Friday, as the Cardinals pelted St. Catherine goalie Mel Gerten with 39 shots, including three that found the back of the net — marking just the fourth time this season SMU has scored three of more goals in a game. St. Catherine, meanwhile, managed just 19 shots on Cardinal goalie Brittany Lemke. Unfortunately, the Wildcats' quality was far more effective than the Cardinals' quantity, as St. Catherine made it look easy as 1-2-3 — scoring once in the first period, twice in the second and three times in the third en route to a 6-3 MIAC win over SMU at the SMU Ice Arena on Jan. 25. If SMU coach Terry Mannor needed any type of sign as to what type of day it was going to be, he got it with the game's first shot. Unfortunately for Mannor and the Cardinals, that shot was off the stick of St. Catherine's Michaela Michaelson— and it ended up in the back of the SMU net. In fact, the Wildcats scored on two of their first six shots, and never looked back in handed SMU its second straight loss, 5-1 in a conference game at Drake Arena on Jan. 26

Cardinal Notes: Because Lindenwood is not affiliated with the NCAA, last weekend's results and statistics do not officially count. … The Cardinals' 5-1 loss to Adrian on Jan. 3 snapped their season-high two-game winning streak while their 6-0 loss a day later marked the second time this season SMU has been shut out. … Katie Cachey (Orland Park, Ill.) accounted for SMU's lone goal vs. the Bulldogs on Jan. 3.
