NORTHFIELD, Minn. — After back-to-back home nonconference victories, the Saint Mary's University women's soccer team returns to Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play Tuesday, traveling to St. Olaf for a 4 p.m. contest against the Oles.

Saint Mary's Cardinal Notes: Sunday's 1-0 win over UW-River Falls was the Cardinals' second straight victory. SMU's last two wins have both been decided by one goal. … With their win Sunday, the Cardinals improved to 34-2-1 in their last 37 non-league contests — with both losses coming against UW-Stout. SMU is now 34-5-2 in nonconference play since the start of the 2004 season. … Stephanie Marnocha (Appleton, Wis.) scored SMU's game-winning goal vs. UW-River Falls. It was Marnocha's first of the season and second in her four-year collegiate career. … Caitlyn Cole (Larson, Wis.) assisted on Marnocha's game-winner. It was the Cardinal sophomore's team-leading seventh assist this season. … Mariana Sanchez (Puebla, Mexico) stopped five shots in posting her single-season career high fifth shutout of the season against UW-River Falls. It was also the 11th shutout of Sanchez's four-year career. … Sanchez has now stopped 66 shots this season and enters today's game boasting a 1.00 goals-against-average and an .846 save percentage. … Amy Sibik (Onalaska, Wis.) had a part in both SMU goals in SMU's 2-1 win over Ripon on Oct. 4, assisting on the first and scoring the second. … The first-half goal was Sibik's team-leading 11th of the season, moving her within one of the career-high 12 goals she scored in 2007. The three points, meanwhile, give her a team-best 26, tying her freshman year career-high. … Sibik, who also led the team in scoring in her first two seasons, now has 31 career goals — ranking her seventh all time, six goals behind No. 6 Barb Bock. … SMU's 2-1 loss to Macalester on Sept. 22 was the Cardinals' second overtime game of the season. It was also the second straight game — fifth game this season — decided by one goal or less. … St. Olaf has been held to one goal or less in all four of its losses. … The Oles have played in three overtime games this season — none of which resulted in a tie. St. Olaf beat Luther (2-1) and UW-Eau Claire (3-2) in OT, and lost to Concordia (2-1) in double overtime. … Catie Christoffel scored the Oles' lone goal vs. the Tommies Saturday. It was Christoffel's ninth goal this season, leaving her two goals behind team-leader Lindsay Howard, who also leads the team in points with 28. Christoffel also leads the team in assists with seven. … Samantha Sickbert has started 10 of the team's 12 games, compiling a 1.36 goals-against-average and a .708 save percentage. … Eleven of the 19 goals allowed by the Oles have come in the first half.
