The Saint Mary's University women's soccer team, coming off its third straight victory — a 4-0 win over Crown on Tuesday — are back in action Sunday, traveling to Superior, Wis., for a 4 p.m. nonconference game against UW-Superior.

Last Action: The Cardinals pushed their season-opening winning streak to three Tuesday evening, cruising to a 4-0 victory over Crown at Ochrymowycz Field. UW-Superior, meanwhile, has been going in the other direction, dropping its third straight game to open the season Saturday, falling to UW-Whitewater 7-0.

Last Meeting — Friday, Sept. 5, 2008: Playing on their new home artificial turf for the first time, the Cardinals got two goals from Amy Sibik (Onalaska, Wis.) and another from Melissa Paulson in blanking the Yellowjackets 3-0.

SMU Cardinal Notes: With their season-opening three nonconference wins, the Cardinals improved to 31-2-1 in their last 34 non-league contests — with both losses coming against UW-Stout. SMU is now 31-5-2 in nonconference play since the start of the 2004 season. … Amy Sibik (Onalaska, Wis.), who has led the Cardinals in scoring in each of her first two seasons, had a goal and an assist against Crown Tuesday. Sibik has now scored at least one goal in all three SMU games this season. The SMU junior netted her first collegiate hat trick in the Cardinals' 4-2 win over Central-Iowa last Saturday. She now has six multiple-goal games in her Cardinal career. … Dana Winkler (Lake Geneva, Wis.) recorded her first career multiple-assist game, picking up two assists ­— while also adding her second goal of the season — in SMU's 4-0 win over the Storm Tuesday. … Mariana Sanchez (Puebla, Mexico) needed to make just one save to record her six career shutout Tuesday. Sanchez has now stopped six of the seven shots she's faced thus far this season, compiling a 0.35 goals-against-average and an .857 save percentage. …  All three goals scored vs. the Cardinals have come in the second half. SMU, meanwhile, has scored five times in each half. … With today's game, SMU will have played three of its first four contests on the road.

UW-Superior Yellowjacket Notes: UW-Superior is still looking for its first goal of the season, having been shut out by St. Scholastica (9-0), Bethel (9-0) and UW-Whitewater (7-0). … Today's game is the home opener for the Yellowjackets, who were 1-5-1 on the road last season. … GK Arianna Livingstone and Felicia Bibeau have been busy between the pipes for the Yellowjackets. Livingstone made 19 saves in UW-S's season-opening 9-0 loss to St. Scholastica, while Bibeau stopped 30 shots in the Yellowjackets 9-0 loss to Bethel. … The Yellowjacket offense, meanwhile, has managed just five shots on goal through three games.
